I agree with Enrique from Mexico, except that as a general rule, the angels set over the operations of the cards are not influenced by the reader or the readee; they are but messengers to administer knowledge and guidance in line with God's Will and use the cards merely as a means to do so. Hello to all!! This site is awesome! Well done! I have been a student of the tarot for several years. I used to have many decks but I am down to my Thoth deck which I have been reading for the past couple of years. There is seldom any mention of Lady Frieda Harris,the actual artist who painted the Thoth deck under Crowely's supervision. When I read these cards I tend to feel what I believe is the powerful presence Lady Harris left in labour of love. Granted ,they were created under Cowley's tutelage, but this was at a time when he was not quite...balanced. I believe Harris really grabbed the reigns at some point during the venture and much of what is inherent in the deck's design reflects more of Harris' insight than she is given credit for. I have been a tarot enthusiast for the last 6 years or so, and have collected quite a few decks for different reasons (either they were beautiful, or they had something unique about them). But the Book of Thoth tarot has really thrown me for a loop. My ability was marginal before, but now some of the readings and intuitions I get from it (for myself, or for others) are so accurate and insightful that it scares me a little! I definitely feel as if this deck has something extra, something special, something uniquely powerful that I have not encountered in any other decks I have used. (Rider-Waite, Renaissance, Hudes, Love Tarot, and the Halloween Tarot). Has anyone else encountered this sort of reaction from it? It might just be because as a visual artist, I find the art and beauty of it immensely appealing (I want to illustrate my own deck some day, when I feel I am competent enough a reader and an artist to convey the message correctly...). Hello, Have you noticed how many people claim they can manifest Supernormal phenomena? I wonder if they really can or, more to the point - can you? It's all too easy to offer spiritual instruction but are you sure that your beliefs do actually relate to an authentic super-mundane reality? I've got an interesting proposition for you - why don't you attempt 'The Big Test?' I don't know if you're familiar with this test but it's very popular over here in Europe at the moment. The idea is that you attempt to perform a Supernormal act and, if you're successful, then you can be sure that you aren't just kidding yourself. The epitome of 'magic' ( or Siddhis ) is to foretell future events because if you are able to do this then you will have proven the existence of a dimension beyond the mundane. The test, then, is very simple and goes like this: Every day you are to choose two names, one of which you then select on the following day by random selection. Predict the 'Target Name' ( by whatever means ) and record the result. With the application of some basic mathematics and a little effort it is then possible to detect if you do really possess genuine ( Supernormal ) powers. Of course, if you are unsuccessful then this doesn't necessarily prove otherwise but, conversely, if you are successful then it will certainly prove beyond all reasonable doubt that your beliefs are fundamentally sound ( and, I need hardly add, this sense of certitude will surely stand you in good stead for challenges you have yet to face ). Like you, no doubt, I am aware of many so-called Mystics, Magicians and Shamans etc., who can't demonstrate their claims at all ( even to themselves ) and I understand that this test offers the possibility of valuable insight and genuine occult progress to the earnest seeker of esoteric knowledge and Enlightenment. E mail me, please, and tell me what you think of this idea. There's lot's of people who would get a big surprise if they took the test - but would you?

If there are any of you who have done any research into seeing into the 'future' ( or the 'fourth dimension' ) and have acheived any notewrorthy results that would stand up to some mathematical scrutiny - or even if you're just interested in this idea, then please e-mail me. I like the site, but, as you can tell, I'm highly suspicious of mere subjectivity. The reason that I suggest that you should try to probe into the 'fourth dimension' using mathmatics is that such techniques have the potential to prove beyond doubt that esotericism actually does relate to another reality. Is there anybody out there who has tried to find proof of the existence of a hidden dimnension by tryingh to predict the 'future' and comparing their results against chance - for instance with reference to 'binomial distributions' and 'standard deviations?' I think that beliefs in occult realities which are based upon nothing more than subjective opinions might well be an invitation for erroneous delusions. Esotericism should be studied scientifically or none of us are likely to get anywhere worthwhile.
